One of CRSC’s scientific research projects, Switch Equipment Engineering Testing Center, has completed its phase II construction and passed the project review. The testing center is a platform for the switch equipment technical communication and learning, with the functions of R&D, testing and personnel training.
After three years’ construction, the testing center has reached international level with a full set of engineering and testing methods. The center enables the technicians to install, experiment, test and evaluate the switch equipment; it can simulate various malfunctions and reproduce the scene when the switch equipment work; it can also analyze the performance of main components of the switch equipment; in addition, the testing center can conduct friction and abrasion analysis of metal materials and material failure analysis: All the above functions making it the ideal platform for switch equipment technical communication and learning.
At the conference of project acceptance, experts listened to the report of the Phase II construction, visited the switch equipment engineering and testing center， and operated and tested the functions on site. Afterwards, they spoke highly of the project by commenting that the center is a good platform for the experiment and test of switch equipment and can provide technicians opportunities to improve their expertise and expand their horizons, which fully achieved the target the project was aiming.
